Law College Entrance Exam Application 2027

SRI LANKA LAW COLLEGE
GENERAL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
ADMISSION OF STUDENTS FOR THE
ACADEMIC YEAR – 2027
Applications are called for the admission of students to the Sri Lanka Law College for the Academic Year 2027 (full-time course) from 9.00 a.m. on 30 March 2026 to 9.00 p.m. on 30 April 2026 on the Online System of the Sri Lanka Examinations Department.

Qualifications for Entrance Examination
The minimum qualifications for appearing for the Sri Lanka Law College Entrance Examination are:

(A) Passed the Sri Lanka General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination / the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) Examination of the United Kingdom with Two Credit Passes and an Ordinary Pass at the same sitting;

And

(B) Possess a Credit pass in the English Language and a Credit pass in the Sinhala or Tamil Language, obtained at the Sri Lanka General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination or National Certificate of General Education Examination, or an examination recognized by the Department of Examinations of Sri Lanka as equal to the above examinations.

Entrance Examination

All the applicants should appear for the Entrance Examination scheduled to be held in Colombo in August 2026. The Question Papers for the Law College Entrance Examination are

1. General Knowledge – Duration 01 Hour
2. General Intelligence – Duration 01 Hour
3. Proficiency in the English Language – Duration 11/2 Hours
4. Proficiency in the Sinhala or Tamil Language – Duration 11/2 Hours

Examination Fee and Law College Fee
The Examination Fee is Rs.1200/ =. Instructions on the Method of Payment of the Examination Fee have been published under the Technological Instructions relevant to the examination on the Sri Lanka Examination Department’s website.

The Law College fee is Rs.12,000/ =. This amount shall be paid under the name of the applicant to 063020073300 (Hulftsdorp Branch) of the Hatton National Bank in the name of The Incorporated Council of Legal Education.

Thereafter, the relevant receipt must be emailed to entrance@slle.ac.lk. After this, the application must be submitted online to the Examinations Department. (In the receipt being emailed to the Law College, the applicant’s Name with initials, National Identity Card Number, and the Telephone Number must be indicated clearly.

Method of Application

The Application Form has been published on “Online Applications – Recruitment/ EB Exams” under “Our Services” on the www.doenets.lk website of the Sri Lanka Examinations Department, and applications shall be submitted online only.

If it appears that there exists any discrepancy or inconsistency between the language of this notice published in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, the language of the Sinhala notice shall prevail.
