Qualifications

Technical Assistant – 46 Posts

External [(a) or (b) or (c) below]

1. a) Having obtained a certificate of proficiency not below the National Vocational Qualification Level 5 in the relevant subject area for the post issued by a Technical/ Vocational Training Institute accepted by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission.
2. b) (i) Passes in 06 subjects with 04 credits, including Sinhala/ Tamil, Science, English, and Mathematics at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination.

AND

 (ii)

Having passed 03 Science subjects, including Chemistry/Physics (other than the General Papers) at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination.

(iii) A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the relevant field.

1. c) (i) Passes in 06 subjects with 04 credits, including Sinhala/ Tamil, Science, English, and Mathematics at the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination.

AND

(ii)Having passed 03 Science subjects, including Chemistry/Physics (other than the General Papers) at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination.

(iii) Completing one and a half (1 1⁄2) years on the job training as a Trainee Technical Assistant at the SLSI.

Internal Candidates

Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates above.

Age

Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years (The upper age limit will not apply to the internal candidates)

Other

Every applicant should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
Should be physically and mentally fit to discharge the duties of the post well and to serve in any part of the Island.
Should be of excellent moral character.
