The Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, entertains applications from prospective candidates for the three-year Bachelor of Science External Degree Programmes in Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences (blended mode).

Subjects Offered

Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences     : Zoology and Botany (Compulsory),

Physics, Statistics, Information Technology

Bachelor of Science in Physical Sciences        : Mathematics, Physics, Statistics,

Information Technology

Entry Requirements :

• C.E. (A/L) with at least three passes in one sitting in Biological Sciences or Physical Sciences/Mathematics
• At least a Credit Pass (C) in English at the C.E. (O/L) Examination

1st Year (Level I & Level II)         :    Rs. 140,000/- (or at the beginning of each Level in two installments of Rs. 70,000/- each)
2nd Year (Level III & Level IV)      :    Rs. 140,000/- (or at the beginning of each Level in two installments of Rs. 70,000/- each )
3rd Year (Level V& Level VI)      :    Rs. 140,000/- (or at the beginning of each Level in two

installments of Rs. 70,000/- each)

Examination Fee                          :    Rs. 36,000/- (Rs. 12,000/- per year)

Duly completed application and certified copies of birth certificate and educational certificates should be sent with a self-addressed stamped envelope (“9×4”) on or before 20.11.2025 by registered post to the Deputy Registrar, Centre for Distance and Continuing Education (CDCE), Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, Bulankulama Disa Mawatha, Stage II, Anuradhapura along with a payment slip for Rs. 2000.00 drawn in favour of “DEMP, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka”, Bank of Ceylon, Mihintale Branch, Account No. 0009622238, (Payment could be made at any branch of the Bank of Ceylon.)

• Eligibility extension: Candidates who obtain an ‘S’ pass in Agriculture at the C.E.

(A/L) Examination may also be considered under Biological Sciences.
