VACANCIES

Applications are invited from qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for the following posts that are vacant at the Tower Hall Theatre Foundation under the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs. These posts are permanent with entitlement to the Employees Provident Fund and the Employees Trust Fund.

1. Director (Drama Promotion, Education and Programmes) (HM 1-1) No. of Posts – 01

01.01 Qualifications – External Applicants

A degree in Drama and Theatre / Education/Aesthetics/ Arts / Mass Communication from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission

with

A postgraduate (Master’s) degree in the relevant field

01.02 Experience

Should have obtained at least fifteen (15) years of experience in the relevant field in a “managerial” level post in government, government corporation, board, statutory institution, or reputed private sector institution

01.03 Qualifications – Internal Applicants (1 or 2 below)

1. Fulfilling the qualifications for the external applicants as mentioned above.
2. Completion of a satisfactory service period of at least five (05) years in the relevant subject field in the Grade 1 post of the Management (MM) Service Category.

01.04 Salary Scale: Rs. 140,640-15×4100202,140/- (per month)

(as per Management Services Circular 01/2025)

(As per the above said Circular, Basic Salary entitled for the year 2025 is Rs. 105,399/-. Entitled to Rs. 17,800/- as Cost of Living Allowance approved by the Treasury.)

01.05 Age: Should be not less than 35 years and not more than 55 years.

2. Assistant / Deputy Director (Education Research and Conservation) (MM 1-1) No. of Posts – 01

02.01

Qualifications – External Applicants

A degree in Drama and Theatre / Education/Aesthetics/ Arts / Mass Communication from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission

02.02 Experience

Should have obtained at least one (01) year of experience in the relevant field in government, semi-government or reputed private sector institution

02.03 Other Qualifications

Ability to use the computer and work in the English Language

Obtaining a postgraduate degree in Drama and Theatre or Educationist subjects, and engaging in educational research activities

Writing Research Papers in a relevant subject and the ability to work in the Tamil language will be a special qualification

02.04 Qualifications – For Internal Applicants

Fulfilling the qualifications for the external applicants as mentioned above

or

Completion of a satisfactory service period of at least five (05) years in a post relevant to the subject field in “Junior Managerial” (JM) Service Category.

02.05 Salary Scale: Rs. 91,690 10×2480 15×3450-168,240/- (per month)

(as per Management Service Circular 01/2025)

(As per the above-mentioned Circular, Basic Salary entitled for the year 2025 is Rs. 71,730/-. Entitled to Rs. 17,800/- as Cost of Living Allowance approved by the Treasury.)

02.06 Age: Should be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years.

3. Technical Assistant MA 2-1 – No. of Posts – 01

03.01 Qualifications – External Applicants

Should have followed a technical course relevant to computer software and hardware activities of not less than NVQ Level Five (05) issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission

03.02 Other Qualifications

Should have followed a Diploma Course in Computer Software and Hardware activities. Following Drama and Theatre as a subject, the ability to work in the Tamil language / English will be considered as a special qualification.

03.03 Qualifications – For Internal Applicants

Fulfilling the qualifications for the external applicants as mentioned above.

03.04 Salary Scale: Rs. 50,540 – 10×540-7×630-4×890-20×1190-87,710/- (per month) (as per Management Service Circular 01/2025)

(As per the above-mentioned Circular, Basic Salary entitled for the year 2025 is Rs. 43,379/-. Entitled to Rs. 17,800/- as Cost of Living Allowance approved by the Treasury.)

03.05 Age: Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years.

03.06 Method of Selection: By a structured Interview

4. Management Assistant (Non-Technical Service Category) MA 1-1 – No. of Posts – 01

04.01

Qualifications – For External Applicants

Should have passed in six (06) subjects in one sitting with Credit passes for four (04) subjects, including Sinhala or Tamil Language, Mathematics at the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination, and

Should have passed in at least three subjects (except General Common Test) at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination

04.02 Other Qualifications

Ability in computer usage and to work in the English language, and following Drama and Theatre as a subject or having practical experience in that field, having experience in serving in institutions relevant to performing arts, and knowledge in the Tamil language will be considered as a special qualification.

Note: A Person who can work in English and Tamil languages will be selected for this post. 04.03 Qualifications – For Internal Applicants

Employees with the following qualifications in Primary Grade – Unskilled, Semi Skilled, and Skilled Service categories may apply for this post.

1. Should have passed in six (06) subjects in one sitting with Credit passes for four (04) subjects, including Sinhala or Tamil Language, Mathematics at the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination
2. Appointment in Primary Grade should have been confirmed and should have completed a satisfactory service period of five (05) years in the permanent service.

Note: A Person who can work in English and Tamil languages will be selected for this post.

04.04 Other Qualifications

Fulfilling the qualifications for the external applicants as mentioned above.

04.05 Salary Scale: Rs. 46,220 – 10×540-7×630-4×890 20×1190-83,390/- (per month) (as per Management Service Circular 01/2025)

(As per the above said Circular, Basic Salary entitled for the year 2025 is Rs. 40,403/-.

Entitled to Rs. 17,800/- as Cost of Living Allowance approved by the Treasury.)

04.06 Age: Should be not less than 18 years and not more than 45 years.
