SLBFE Scholarships 2025 for Children of Migrant Workers
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment & Tourism Granting of scholarships for the children of workers who have been employed / permanently employed abroad, registered with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment -2025
Applications are invited through the online system from students who meet the following qualifications to offer scholarships for the year 2025 for the children of migrant workers who have been/ are abroad for work registered with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment. (You can apply for this by visiting the website www.slbfe.lk )
Qualifications:
A) Grade 5 scholarship
The mother or father of the concerned applicant should be registered with the Bureau and be employed abroad between 15.09.2019 and 15.09.2024
Must pass the 5-year studentship exam held in the year 2024 with district cut-off marks.
Required documents to be uploaded
• Applicant’s original birth certificate
• Original examination certificate issued by the department of examination
• Bio page of the expatriate mother/father’s passport
Must be considered
Kindly inform that the applicant’s original birth certificate, examination certificate issued by the department of examination, certified by the principal/justice of peace, and sent by registered post to the address mentioned below, and the reference number (you will receive after completing the application form) on the top right corner of those documents.
B) G.C.E. (O/L) student
The mother or father of the concerned applicant must be registered with the Bureau and have been employed abroad between May 6, 2019, and May 6, 2024.
G.C.E. (O/L) held in the year 2023(2024) examination must be passed in at least 06 subjects, including the mathematics subject, and students who are studying G.C.E. (A/L) with award passes in 03 subjects.

• Applicant’s original birth certificate
• Original examination certificate issued by the department of examination
• Applicant’s National Identity Card
• Bio page of the expatriate mother/father’s passport
Must be considered
Kindly inform that the applicant’s original birth certificate, examination certificate issued by the department of examination, certified by the principal/justice of peace, and sent by registered post to the address mentioned below, and the reference number (you will receive after completing the application form) on the top right corner of those documents.
C) G.C.E. (A/L) students
The mother or father of the concerned applicant should be registered with the Bureau and be employed abroad between 04.01.2019 and 04.01.2024.
Passed G.C.E. (A/L) in the year 2023(2024) and a full-time internal degree course in a government or private university recognized by the University Grants Commission or should be pursuing education in a diploma course of 2 years or more in a National Institute of Technology or another educational institution.

• Applicant’s original birth certificate
• Original examination certificate issued by the department of examination
• Applicant’s National Identity Card
• Studentship certified letter issued by the Registrar of the concerned educational institution
• Bio page of the expatriate mother/father’s passport
Must be considered

Most important:
You can apply for a scholarship of the same category only once.
