01. Additional Director General

Qualifications – External Applicants

1. A UGC-recognized Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subject area and a two-year research-level Postgraduate Degree in Education, together with at least 20 years of post-graduation managerial experience in Government, Public Corporations, Statutory Boards or recognized higher education institutions. At least 8 years must be at senior managerial level.
2. A UGC-recognized Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant subject area or a B.Ed. Degree, together with a PhD in Education and at least 8 years of excellent service at senior managerial level in Government, Public Corporations, Statutory Boards or recognized higher education institutions after obtaining the PhD.

Qualifications – Internal Applicants

1. Three years of satisfactory service as a Deputy Director General (HM 2-1) at the National Institute of Education.
2. Proven ability to lead and direct multidisciplinary teams, deploy staff effectively and manage human and other resources efficiently.

02. Technical Officer (Electrical)

Required Qualifications

Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following:

1. A degree in the relevant field recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
2. An NVQ Level 7 certificate in the relevant field from a technical or vocational training institution recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC).
3. An NVQ Level 6 certificate or higher in the relevant field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in Government, a Government Corporation, Board, Statutory Institution or reputed private institution.
4. An NVQ Level 5 certificate or higher in the relevant field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience in Government, a Government Corporation, Board, Statutory Institution or reputed private institution.

03. Technical Assistant

Required Qualifications

Applicants must satisfy one of the following:

1. An NVQ Level 5 certificate in the relevant field from a technical or vocational training institution recognized by the TVEC.
2. Where NVQ Level 5 courses are unavailable, an NVQ Level 4 certificate or higher in the relevant field from a TVEC-recognized institution, together with 10 years of post-qualification experience in Government, a Government Corporation, Board, Statutory Institution or reputed private institution.

General Conditions for Applicants

• Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens.
• Applicants must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties and be willing to serve anywhere in the island. The permanent workstations will be at No. 21, High Level Road, Maharagama / High Level Road, Meepe.
• Applicants must have excellent moral character.
• Certified copies of the birth certificate, educational and professional certificates, and service certificates must be submitted with the application.
• These are permanent positions. Selected candidates must contribute 8% of their salary to the EPF. The institution will contribute 12% to the EPF and 3% to the ETF.
• Other government-approved allowances will be paid in addition to the basic salary.
• Salary scales will be applied according to Schedule II of Management Services Circular No. 01/2025.
